Preferred Transit Alternatives

This room identifies the preferred alternatives selected by the project team to address gaps and deficiencies in the transit system, including expanded service, improved marketing, and stop amenities. The preferred transit alternatives are shown in the exhibits to the right. Transit Alternatives

Public transit service within Florence is provided by Rhody Express (for local trips), Link Lane (for intercity trips to Eugene and to Yachats), and Coos County Area Transit (for intercity trips to Coos Bay). While service is generally provided by others, there are things the City can do to support development of a more efficient transit system. The high priority transit alternatives are shown below.

• T1: Local Service - Explore adding service to Rhododendron Dr and Heceta Beach neighborhood
• T3: Marketing - Improve marketing for intercity service, specifically for Link Lane service to Eugene and to Yachats
• T5: Bus Stops - Add shelters and/or benches to existing bus stops and build bus stops that are accessible
