Transit Solutions
Public transit can provide important connections and options for all transportation system users. Public transit is complemented by walking, bicycling, or driving trips: users often need to walk, bike, or drive to and from transit stops/destinations.
Public transportation is provided by the Central Oregon Breeze and Cascades East Transit (CET). CET provides connections within the County and between Jefferson County and Deschutes County. Several CET Connector Routes serve Jefferson County and provide connections between Madras, Redmond, and Warm Springs.
The CET Transit Master Plan is incorporated into the TSP solutions and has identified the following needs for Jefferson County outside of Madras and Warm Springs:
Community Connector: More service coverage; on-demand shopper/medical shuttle service
Dial-A-Ride: Expanding coverage to include Crooked River Ranch, Metolius, and Culver
Capital Needs: New Route 22 stops in Crooked River Ranch; New transit hubs in Metolius and Culver
The proposed transit solutions are primarily programmatic improvements that the County will coordinate with CET to implement. Click the "Transit Solutions Table" to the right to explore the projects and provide comments.
