Project Overview
Current Phase: Alternatives Analysis
The project team is evaluating what should change with intersections, roadways, and multimodal options. These alternatives are based on the needs identified in the existing conditions analysis, future no-build conditions analyses and public feedback.
Project Schedule
After this open house, the project team will compile feedback and report back to the community with a preferred alternative in Fall 2020. The refinement plan is scheduled to be complete in 2021.
What Is a Refinement Plan?
The Wickiup Junction Refinement Plan will identify short-, mid-, and long-term ways to manage and improve U.S. 97 through Wickiup Junction. The plan will build on work completed in the 2013 La Pine Transportation System Plan (TSP) and the 2012 Deschutes County TSP. You can see the work our project team has completed to date for the Wickiup Junction Refinement Plan at the Project Website.
The project team has identified transportation needs and now presents potential changes to address them — in partnership with City of La Pine, Deschutes County, ODOT, and the general public who live, work, and/or travel through Wickiup Junction. The plan focuses on intersections within the Wickiup Junction area for safe access to, from, and across U.S. 97.
Why Is this Refinement Plan Needed?
It’s needed to improve safety and mobility for all modes of transportation through the Wickiup Junction area. Proposed changes focus on building a connected transportation system that supports mobility, planned land uses, economic vitality, livability, and public safety.
