Public Transit Service & Facilities

The primary public transit providers serving Curry County include Curry Public Transit and the SouthWest POINT.

  • Curry Public Transit (CPT)
CPT operates a fixed-route service between Coos Bay / North Bend and Smith River known as the Coastal Express. Within the county, the Coastal Express has five formal bus stops at locations in Port Orford, Gold Beach, Brookings, and Harbor, and two unofficial (or "flag") stops in Langlois. Amenities at these stops vary from no amenities to covered shelters, bus stop signs, waiting areas, etc. CPT also operates dial-a-ride service (curb-to-curb) in Brookings and Gold Beach. No park and ride facilities or transit centers are currently available in CPT's service area.
  • SouthWest POINT
The POINT is Oregon's intercity bus service that is owned by Pacific Crest Bus Lines. This service offers the SouthWest route between Klamath Falls and Brookings with multiple connections in between (Ashland, Medford, Grants Pass, Cave Junction, O'Brien, Gasquet, Hiouchi, Crescent City, and Smith River).

Transit Qualitative Multimodal Assessment

A Transit Qualitative Multimodal Assessment (QMA) evaluates the quality of public transit services and facilities for how they currently accommodate travel by bus. Transit services and facilities receive a rating of "Excellent, Good, Fair, or Poor" based on characteristics such as frequency and on-time reliability, schedule speed/travel times, transit stop amenities, and pedestrian and bicycle facility connections to transit stops. The Transit QMA is not exhibited on the right, but the services and facilities available in the county are rated as "Fair."
