Pedestrian and Bicycle Plan
Check out the Interactive Pedestrian Map and the Interactive Bicycle Map
The Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan are presented in Chapter 4 of the Draft TSP seen HERE. In rural Klamath County, people walking, biking, and rolling generally share the same facilities. Unlike urbanized areas – where people biking use designated lanes or wide shoulders and people walking or rolling use sidewalks – rural facilities for non-motorized travel usually consist of wide shoulders and/or multiuse paths. As in more rural areas, the needs of people walking, biking, and rolling are similar. Facilities that are deficient for one user are usually deficient for others, thus recommended improvements can benefit more than one user.
The Pedestrian projects for the Klamath County TSP consist of improvement projects such as enhanced crossings and sidewalks or paths along State and County roadways, at key intersections, and in unincorporated areas. The proposed Pedestrian projects are shown in the INTERACTIVE PEDESTRIAN MAP provided in the link. Please open the map and provide comments or thoughts related to the project locations. Additional or general pedestrian comments can be submitted by clicking the "Pedestrian Plan Map" exhibit.
