Bicycle Infrastructure

A key transportation goal identified in the TSP update process is enhancing bicycle infrastructure on major streets. The preferred alternatives seek to improve the bike infrastructure on major streets through the expansion of bike lane widths, wherever possible. Where feasible, the preferred alternative for major roadways throughout Independence is a buffered bike lane. This may require widening of the roadway and/or acquiring more right-of-way.
