State Street & Olde Park Place Design Details and Comment Form

The key improvements summarized below will reduce traffic congestion and improve the pedestrian and bicycle environment in downtown Eagle. Click on the exhibit to the right to see the improvements and provide comments. Please note it may take a few seconds to load.

Design Highlights: State Street between 2nd Street and Olde Park Place

  • New signal at State Street and 2nd Street. For vehicles traveling west on State Street, left turns will no longer be permitted south onto Eagle Road. Left turning traffic will use 2nd Street or Olde Park Place.
  • Add raised center median. To improve safety, the center median will restrict access to right turns in and right turns out from driveways.
  • Bulb outs at 1st Street. A bulb out extends the sidewalk at the intersection to make a shorter crossing for pedestrians and slow traffic.
  • Wider sidewalks. Sidewalks will be repaired and widened at key locations including new accessible ADA ramps at crossings. As part of this street trees will be replaced.
  • Less on-street parking. On-street parking will be removed on the north side of State Street. Some on-street parking will remain on the south side.
  • Change 1st Street, south of State Street, to a one way street heading north.
  • Shared-lane markings (sharrows). Sharrows will remain on State Street indicating cyclists and vehicles share the roadway.

Design Highlights: Olde Park Place/Aikens Street from State Street to Eagle Road

  • Construct curb, gutter and sidewalk on both sides of street.
  • Add raised center median. To improve safety, the center median will restrict access to right turns in and right turns out from driveways.
  • Add bicycle lanes on both sides.
  • Add on-street parking between State Street and Aikens Street.
